Our New Series: Planting a Dye Garden

We’re thrilled to kick off a new blog and Instagram series all about creating a plant dye garden—featuring five beginner-friendly plants that thrive here in Utah and the Rocky Mountain region: cosmos, coreopsis, marigolds, scabiosa (Black Night), and dyer’s chamomile.

Each day, we’ll highlight one of these vibrant dye plants—sharing its history, cultural uses, what colors it produces, and how to grow it in your own backyard. Whether you’re new to natural dyeing or already deep in the dye pot, we hope it sparks inspiration.

Follow along on Instagram @handcraftrevival for daily bite-sized posts, or visit our blog for a deeper dive. And if you’re ready to get your hands dirty, check out our upcoming dye workshops—designed to bring this colorful tradition to life.

Let’s grow something beautiful together.
