There’s something satisfying about creating jewelry by hand — shaping metal, adding texture, and walking away wearing something you made yourself.
In this hands-on metalsmithing class, Megan of Crooked Trails Silver will guide students through the process of creating their own stacker rings from start to finish. Students will learn foundational jewelry-making techniques including measuring, filing, soldering, shaping, and texturing metal bands while creating a custom set of handcrafted rings.
Students will create their own handcrafted stacker rings using sterling silver, gold-filled, or patterned silver wire. Materials will be selected and paid for during class, with most students spending approximately $15–$25 depending on the number and style of rings they choose to make.
With a small-group format and guided instruction throughout, this class is designed to feel approachable, creative, and encouraging for complete beginners while still offering plenty of room for creativity and customizatiation.

Materials & Additional Costs
Due to fluctuations in the precious metals market, metal materials are not included in the tuition price.
Students should expect to pay approximately $15–$25 for materials at the end of class depending on how much metal is used and the styles selected. Materials may be paid directly to the artist via cash, card, or Venmo.
About the Teacher
Megan is the creator and owner of Crooked Trails Silver, a jewelry brand inspired by earthy western landscapes and handcrafted design. With more than five years of metalsmithing experience and a background in teaching, she is passionate about helping students feel confident and creative while learning jewelry-making skills. Megan also teaches jewelry making at Salt Lake Community College.

Class size is limited to allow for individualized instruction.

Tickets are refundable for store credit up to one week before the event. Within one week of the event, tickets are transferable only.
