{10/3} Beginning Crochet, the Waldorf Way: Treasure Pouches

Learn to crochet through the gentle, story-rich methods commonly used in Waldorf handwork education.

Jennifer and Melissa will introduce the foundational movements of crochet using approachable language, natural materials, and plenty of hands-on guidance. Jennifer will also share how crochet fits into the Waldorf handwork curriculum and how working with yarn can support coordination, focus, confidence, and creative thinking.

• How to begin and shape a small treasure pouch

What You’ll Make

Each student will receive a treasure pouch that has already been started, allowing us to begin practicing the crochet stitch right away. You’ll continue building the pouch during class and learn how to finish it at home if needed.

At the end of class, Jennifer and Melissa will demonstrate how to make a slip knot, crochet a foundation chain, and begin a new pouch so you understand the complete process.

You may not complete the entire pouch during class, but you’ll leave with the materials, skills, and instructions needed to continue working at home.

This class is especially lovely for homeschool parents, teachers, and others interested in helping children learn to crochet. It is also perfect for anyone who would simply enjoy learning crochet through a warm and approachable Waldorf-inspired method.

Supplies

Each student will receive a pre-started wool treasure pouch and a crochet hook to use during class and take home afterward. All necessary class supplies are included.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made at least one week before class are eligible for store credit. Within one week of class, registrations may be transferred to another participant but are nonrefundable.

Parking

Guests may park directly behind the Handcraft Revival building or along the street. Please do not park in neighboring parking spaces or residential parking areas along the alley.
