Choosing Your Club Time

Choose either the 3:00 PM or 4:00 PM session in the booking calendar. The time selected reserves your child’s place in that same weekly session for the entire fall term.

Please note: The booking calendar displays only the first meeting on September 9. Registration includes all 10 regularly scheduled club meetings.

What is Handwork Club?

Give your child a calm, creative place to settle in after the school day. Inspired by the Waldorf handwork tradition, this weekly club gives children time to strengthen practical skills, grow in confidence, and experience the satisfaction of making something by hand.

Students may work on knitting, crochet, or cross-stitch projects. They are welcome to bring an appropriate project from home or begin something new with support from their instructor.

If your child would like to work on a different handwork skill, please tell us during registration. We will follow up by email to confirm whether we can provide the necessary materials and instruction.

What Students Will Experience

  • Guided handwork instruction
  • Calm, screen-free time after school
  • Practice with knitting, crochet, or cross-stitch
  • Opportunities to build independence and confidence
  • A supportive environment rooted in the Waldorf handwork tradition
  • Time to develop a project over several weeks

Supplies

Full-session registration includes a $20 handwork supply allowance. This is an included material allowance, not a refundable deposit. Students may use up to $20 in yarn and other project materials during the session.

The allowance is approximately equal to one skein of Lamb’s Pride yarn or several small balls of yarn commonly used for club projects.

Students may also use shared studio tools during club, including knitting needles, crochet hooks, tapestry needles, scissors, and other basic handwork tools.

If your student would like their own knitting needles, crochet hooks, or other tools to take home and keep, an add-on option is available at checkout.

If a student would like materials beyond the included $20 allowance, we will contact a parent before adding any additional supply cost. Students are also welcome to bring suitable materials from home.

New Handwork Students

The club welcomes newer and returning makers, but it is not designed to provide extended one-on-one foundational instruction during the group meeting.

If your child has never knitted, crocheted, or stitched before, please schedule a short private lesson before their first club meeting. This helps them learn the basics and enter the group feeling prepared and successful.

Drop-In Registration

Drop-in spaces may be released closer to each meeting based on remaining club capacity. Drop-in registration includes the use of shared studio tools but does not include the full-session $20 supply allowance. Materials may be brought from home or purchased separately as needed.

Please email contactus@handcraftrevival.com if your child would like to drop in. One week’s notice is appreciated, but same-day participation may be available when space allows.

Make-Up Class

If your child misses one or more regularly scheduled club meeting, they may attend the make-up class on Wednesday, December 2, at their regular club time. Each full-session student may use the make-up class once during the fall term.

Please notify us in advance if your child plans to attend so we can prepare the appropriate project materials.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made at least one week before the beginning of the full session may receive store credit. Within one week of the session start, registration is nonrefundable but may be transferred to another eligible student.

Missed club meetings are nonrefundable. One missed meeting may be made up during the designated December 2 make-up class.
