Festival Friday: Día de los Muertos Butterfly Suncatchers
Join us for a special Día de los Muertos Festival Friday as we explore the beauty of remembrance, family, and the returning monarch butterflies.
Children will create a colorful butterfly suncatcher inspired by the monarchs often associated with Día de los Muertos. Using black paper and glowing pieces of translucent kite paper, they’ll build their own stained-glass-style butterfly to hang in a sunny window.
We’ll also spend a little time learning about Día de los Muertos and the tradition of remembering and celebrating loved ones who have died. This gathering will be gentle, joyful, and centered on creativity, family, and remembrance.

Recommended for ages 6 and older. Younger children are welcome with a participating adult.
