Description![]()
In the stillness of January, when the world feels hushed beneath snow, we gather for an old-world tradition: a crankie night.
A crankie is a hand-cranked theater box, its long paper scroll slowly unwinding to reveal a painted story. Paired with live folk music and simple narration, the images move like dreams—quiet, steady, and full of wonder.
Join us for an intimate evening of winter tales told the old way:
lanterns glowing, fiddle gently weaving through the room, the box turning as scenes pass across the tiny stage. It is storytelling you can feel in your bones—unhurried, handmade, human.
We’ll listen, celebrate, and rest together in the warmth of community.
After the performances, stay to sip cider, chat, or wander our Market.
What You’ll Experience
- Live folk music
- Hand-cranked illustrated storytelling
