Bring a little snap, sparkle, and tradition to your holiday table! In this festive, hands-on workshop, Jennifer Samuelson will guide you through crafting classic British-style Christmas crackers—complete with crepe paper crowns, jokes, and tiny treats. You’ll learn tips for neat rolling, crisp ends, and beautiful finishing touches with ribbon and trim. Everyone leaves with a charming set of 4–6 finished crackers (depending on pace) and the know-how to make more at home.

What You’ll Make & Learn

• How to build traditional Christmas crackers from scratch (tube, snap, crown, filler, wrap)
• Wrapping & finishing techniques for tidy, professional-looking ends
• Styling ideas: patterned papers, hand-tied bows, name tags, and place-setting accents
• Safety & best practices for using standard cracker “snaps”

What We Provide

• High-quality decorative papers, snaps, crepe crowns, ribbons, trims, tags
• Filler options (family-friendly jokes, small trinkets)
• Tools and adhesives for shared use
• Light snacks; non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase

What to Bring (Optional)

• Tiny, non-perishable goodies to personalize your crackers (think wrapped candy, stickers, tiny notes, tea bags)
• Reading glasses if you use them for close work - we also have some available for purchase in the market

Who It’s For

Holiday enthusiasts, table-setting lovers, gift-givers, and crafty friends. No experience necessary. Ages 12+ (under 16 with an adult).

Good to Know

• Please arrive 5–10 minutes early to get settled.
• Outside food & drinks aren’t allowed (except for private events) - water is fine
• Our workshop space is wheelchair accessible.
• We craft while we chat—expect a cozy, social evening!

Instructor

Jennifer Samuelson is a co-founder of Handcraft Revival and a lifelong maker with a love for heritage crafts and beautiful, functional design. She’s known for clear, encouraging instruction and festive details.

Policies

Tickets are refundable for store credit up until 1 week before the event. They are then  transferable; if you can’t attend, you’re welcome to send a friend in your place. If Handcraft Revival needs to cancel, you’ll receive a full refund.
