Ages 8+ | Friday, July 10 | 1:00–4:00pm
Taught by Stan Bailey
This hands-on Root Beer Brewing workshop invites students to experience the classic process of making old-fashioned root beer from scratch using simple ingredients and time-honored methods.
Guided by Stan Bailey, students will learn how to mix, flavor, and bottle a small batch of homemade root beer—much like families once did around kitchen tables and general stores. Along the way, they’ll explore flavor profiles, carbonation, and safe bottling practices.
Students will leave with a six-bottle batch of root beer, ready to ferment at home and share.
This workshop pairs naturally with Cooking with Powers earlier in the week and can be added on for a full week of food-focused learning.
