Learn the delicate and time-honored art of shuttle tatting in this beginner-friendly lace making class with Jann Davis and Laurel Cannon Alder.
Tatting is a traditional fiber craft that uses a series of knots and loops to create intricate lacework from thread. Using a small handheld shuttle, students will learn the foundational techniques of rings, chains, and double stitches while creating their very first tatted project — a delicate handmade bookmark.
This class is intentionally kept small to allow for plenty of personal guidance as students learn the rhythm and hand movements that make tatting such a satisfying and meditative craft.
With a little patience and practice, students will leave with a strong understanding of the basic building blocks of shuttle tatting along with the skills needed to continue practicing at home.
