Saturday, August 1 | 2:00–4:00pm
Ages 16+ (younger welcome with an accompanying adult)
Instructor: Jennifer Samuelson, Co-Founder of Handcraft Revival
Discover the beauty of Shibori, a traditional Japanese resist-dyeing technique that creates stunning patterns through folding, twisting, binding, and stitching fabric before dyeing.
In this hands-on class, Jennifer Samuelson — co-founder of Handcraft Revival and longtime natural dye artist — will guide participants through several Shibori methods using indigo dye. You’ll learn how small changes in folding and binding can create dramatically different results, and how to create designs that feel both intentional and surprising.
Each participant will receive a bandana to dye and take home, leaving with a one-of-a-kind piece that’s both wearable and artful.
This class is perfect for beginners and seasoned makers alike. No prior dyeing experience required — just come ready to experiment, learn, and get a little messy.
