{8/13} Folkcraft Social: Community Stamp Carving

Spend an evening carving, printing, and creating together during this collaborative Folkcraft Social centered around hand-carved stamps and shared pattern making.

In this relaxed, community-style class, each participant will design and carve their own 2x2 rubber stamp before gathering around the printing table to layer everyone’s designs onto a shared collection of canvas bags. As patterns build, every bag becomes a one-of-a-kind piece shaped by the entire group.

Guided by Melissa Mott, students will get the  basics of stamp carving and relief printing while exploring simple techniques for creating bold, clean, graphic designs inspired by folk motifs, nature, symbols, and traditional block printing.

This evening is designed to feel social, welcoming, and creatively low-pressure — perfect for beginners, friends, and anyone wanting to spend a summer evening making alongside others.

Additional Notes

• No previous carving or printmaking experience needed
• Designs can be simple or detailed depending on comfort level
• Participants are welcome to bring inspiration images or sketches
• Wear clothing comfortable for printing and ink work

Cancellation Policy

Tickets are refundable for store credit up to one week before the event. Within one week of the class, tickets are transferable only.
