As summer begins to soften toward fall, we’re gathering again to practice something older than retail—a small experiment in community economy.

Inspired by Robin Wall Kimmerer’s writing about the gift economy in The Serviceberry, this gathering is rooted in trust, reciprocity, and shared abundance. Not buying and selling, but circulating. Not keeping score, but keeping relationship.

This time, our Supply Swap will be centered entirely around fiber.

Contribute what you can.
Take what you need.
Trust it balances out.

How It Works

• Bring your fiber between 12:00–2:00 PM
If that time doesn’t work for you, please reach out and we’ll arrange another drop-off time.

• We’ll sort and lay everything out together
• Swapping begins at 2:00 PM
• Take what inspires you

There is no point system and no exact exchange. You’re welcome to participate whether you bring a little, a lot, or nothing at all.

We’re practicing generosity and balance—and refining the gathering as we learn.

What to Bring

Clean, usable fiber of all kinds, including:

• Yarn—full or partial skeins, neatly wound
• Wool roving or top
• Clean, prepared fleece
• Spinning fiber
• Batting
• Wool felt or felt sheets
• Embroidery floss and crewel wool
• Weaving yarn and warp thread
• Rug yarn
• Macramé cord
• Crochet thread
• Needle-felting wool
• Natural or synthetic fibers
• Small fiber bundles left over from previous projects

Please make sure all materials are clean, usable, and free from moths, strong odors, moisture, and excessive pet hair.

To keep this gathering manageable and especially useful to our fiber community, we’re shying away from fabric for this swap. Please save fabric yardage and scraps for a future fabric-focused gathering.

Stay & Stitch

Our handwork tables will be open throughout the afternoon.

Bring a small project, sip tea, and visit. You’re welcome to come for the swap, stay and make something, or simply spend a little time among fellow fiber people.

The point isn’t only the materials—it’s the rhythm of being together.

To keep these swaps sustainable, we rely on a few helping hands from our community.

Volunteers are appreciated to help receive and sort donations before the swap, keep materials tidy during the gathering, and assist with clean-up afterward.
