{11/15} Stitched for the Season: Full-Day Holiday Sewing Workshop

Date: Saturday, November 15 | 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (with lunch break)

Spend a cozy day in the studio creating something truly special for the season—a handmade Christmas stocking with a quilted heart.

In the  morning, you’ll design and sew a beautifully pieced fabric panel using timeless patchwork techniques and festive holiday prints. All fabric pieces are pre-cut and ready to sew, so you can dive straight into arranging your layout, stitching your design, and enjoying the simple rhythm of making.

After a midday break (with an optional add-on lunch available in the shop), the afternoon is all about turning that patchwork panel into a finished, fully lined Christmas stocking. Virginia will guide you through layout and construction, sewing curves and linings, and adding thoughtful finishing details like binding and a hanging loop.

By the end of the day, you’ll head home with a completed heirloom stocking—plus the skills and inspiration to create more for friends and family.

This workshop is the perfect way to slow down, sew something meaningful, and enjoy a creative day surrounded by community, color, and fabric.

• Ages 16+ (youngers welcome with an accompanying adult)
• Experience: Basic sewing machine familiarity required (you should know how to thread and operate a machine)

• Optional Add-On Lunch (hearty chili + cornbread) available for $10 between sessions here

• Morning Session (9:00–12:00): Quilt Block Workshop
• Lunch Break (12:00–1:00): Optional chili + cornbread lunch, or bring your own
• Afternoon Session (1:00–4:00): Stocking Assembly Workshop

FAQ

Do I need sewing experience?
You should have basic familiarity with a sewing machine—enough to thread it, adjust stitches, and sew straight seams. No quilting or pattern experience is needed.

What should I bring?
All materials, tools, and machines are provided. If you have a favorite pair of scissors or a special scrap you’d like to include in your design, feel free to bring it.

Is lunch included?
You’re welcome to add on a cozy chili-and-cornbread lunch for $10 or bring your own meal to enjoy in the studio during the break.

Can I take only half the class?
Yes! The morning Holiday Patchwork Workshop and the afternoon Christmas Stocking Workshop are also available to register for separately.
